Mark your calendar! The Idaho Department of Health and Welfare is hosting a meeting to celebrate the release of the "Idaho Prevents Diabetes State Action Plan" in Boise, Idaho on September 12, 2018.

Prior to the State Action Plan release, the Idaho Suicide Prevention Program will be providing Gatekeeper training to address the following topics:

  • The suicidal mind and why people die by suicide
  • What is true and false about suicide
  • Idaho suicide statistics
  • Suicide warning signs
  • Getting those at risk to help
  • How to instill hope and increase protective factors
  • Helping survivors of suicide loss
  • The importance of safety and proper messaging
