How To Join the IMA

The Idaho Medical Association has unified membership with the 13 Idaho component (local) medical societies. Unified membership means that an applicant must join both the IMA and the local medical society.

To begin the membership process, eligible applicants should submit to the Idaho Medical Association a completed application with both IMA and local society dues. All new IMA members must be elected (approved) by the applicant’s local medical society, and the IMA will forward the completed application to the local society president for review and election.

You can obtain an IMA membership application in two ways:

• By telephone: Please call (208) 344-7888 to request a membership application by return mail or fax.
• Via the IMA Web site: To print an IMA membership application from the Web site, click on the appropriate membership category below. Applications are provided in pdf format.

After you have received or printed the IMA membership application, follow this membership application procedure:

1. Complete the Idaho Medical Association application for your membership category in its entirety. Be sure to include all applicable information. The prospective member and references must sign on the appropriate lines.
2. Mail your completed application with dues payment, including your check for both IMA and local society dues:

• ADA COUNTY MEMBERS (all categories): Be sure to include a recent photograph with your membership application and dues.

3. The Idaho Medical Association will review your completed application and forward it to the president of the local medical society. Following the local society’s election/approval, the IMA will notify you that your membership has been approved and welcome you as an Association member. You will begin receiving your membership benefits and services immediately.
